Cub Scout Camp

Four days of fun and activities....swimming, target shooting with bb guns and bows and arrows, campfires and roasted marshmallows, wittling, and lots and lots of hiking.

Cub Scout Camp Starts This Week

Nathan and Matt left today. It is the first day of Resident Camp for Cub Scouts. They are going for four days...four days of joy for Nathan shooting guns, and bow and arrows, sitting around the camp fire, learning new skills, bring home lots of new patches and coming home a Bear Cub Scout. Noah wants to be with Nathan and was very disappointed to have to say goodby this afternoon. Tuesday we will be going to visit at camp so Noah can be a "Cub Scout" too.

New Soap Batches Created

I was able to create four new batches during the month of May.

This marbled batch is Rosemary-Mint, I created this one and added neem oil to it because of the skin healing properties that it contains. Also added to this batch are rose clay and green sea clay for color.

Orange-Eucalyptus with cinnamon swirled in. This batch is very similar to the first orange scented batch created except for color contrast and scent I stirred in ground cinnamon. It reminds me of the orange cinnamon rolls we used to eat as kids.

This batch is Patchouli-Lavender, one of my personal favorites. It has a clean scent that is very well liked by both the men and women who have tried it. In this batch I adjusted the essential oils a little and added more clay. This bar could be used as a shaving bar as well as a bath bar.

These three batches will be cured and added to my Etsy site in the middle of June.

Lavender-Ylang Ylang is a floral scent. I combined Lavender and Ylang Ylang with several other essential oils and came up with a unique scent that is floral and herbal and a little powdery. This batch will be cured and ready for sale on Etsy the first week of June.

Light of Christ

Today was a special day for Nathan. He received his Light of Christ Emblem during mass today. It is a badge received by Cub Scouts for being active in their church parish. The boys each worked hard to complete their tasks, were interviewed by our Priest, and the books were sent to the Diocese for review.

Crawling...Sitting...Standing all in one week!

Jacob had such a big week....




In the last five days or so he has started crawling, sitting up on his own and is even pulling himself up to standing at the sofa, bookshelves and on his brothers...pretty much where ever he can get a good grip.

Our Green Acres

Here is part of our little garden. So far things are going well. We have several more pots to put out hopefully this afternoon will allow us time to do some more and at least transplant seedlings into a few more pots.
