Traditionally, today is a time of fun, excitement, and overindulgence in our culture. Mardi Gras(Fat Tuesday) is the day before the start of Lent usually celebrated by parades, lots of good food, and parties in preparation for the Lenten fast that is ahead of us. Celebrating a time of plenty in order to get ready for 40 days of fasting, prayer, and 
reflection in order to remember why we are here and to learn where we are going. So have a great day today, a great Lenten start, and to truly remember what Jesus gave up for us to be here. Happy Mardi Gras everyone. Wishing everyone a great Lent.

Today was the Annual Pinewood Derby for Cub Scouts. What a crazy busy morning. Lots of little boys, all the excitement and anticipation, and bunches of fun! There were lots of fast cars in this year's race. The boys had a great time watching their cars 'fly' down the track waiting to see who would come out victorious. All the boys did a great job on their designs. Their hard work and dedication were obvious looking at all the cool cars on the racks waiting for their turns at the track. 
Nathan's car placed second this year. I think there was a moment of disappointment, but overall he was a good sport about it. Of course it is difficult to be the Grand Champion from last years race and have to face coming down.
