Birthdays: Evelyn Turns Seven

A little tribute to our favorite little girl in the whole world. Our Evelyn, smart, sweet, spunky, and adventurous.

She's got a style all her own. Born into a world of boy, she has paved her own path that has blended a world of knights and swords, and dragons and mud with the world of rainbows, and princess, and fairy, and glitter galore.

The fairytale story dynamic didn't change that much, she just added a whole new dimension to the story.




She still lives very much in the world of play hard and get dirty, just in beautiful dresses and the world of pink and purple. She is lively and loving, tough and tender.


Always ready for the next adventure and to explore.

She can run and dance and twirl with a ribbon and play with her babies and in one instant is ready for the world of swords and everything boy in the next.



She is the perfect mix of princess and tomboy. She might seem girly, but she will not be out done by the boys and will always fight to come out on top.




There is never a dull moment with our little girl. Full of adventure and mischief, a twinkle in her eye, and a smile that can melt your heart. 

Noah's Eleven

Happy Birthday Noah, you have added so much to our life over the years, so much spirit, so much adventure and so many blessings. We love you and have loved watching you grow into the wonderful young man you are becoming. Here's to many, many more years to watch you become the man you will be.

Jacob Turns 8!

Happy Birthday to our sweet, cute, witty young man. Determination and strength of spirit are two very dominate parts of his personality. He can be strong willed and at times very stubborn, but it shows that he can be driven when he truly believes he needs to be.

He has a warrior's heart, but can be a very soft-hearted and gentle spirit that looks out for those smaller than him and is a very sweet boy.

He is always ready to find something new to investigate, discover and learn; active and adventurous, loves to explore. He is always ready with a new and imaginative story or joke and can't wait to make a new friend where ever he goes.

continue to guide you in the right direction with strength and steadfast spirit that keeps you on your path through life.

TEN...Already!

Happy Birthday to my bright eyed adventurer.

 

We have had ten non-stop action packed years with this guy. Always on the go and ready to find that next exploration. He has definitely kept us on our toes. He could climb before he could walk and was always finding new and exciting ways to keep life interesting.

At 10 months he wiggled out of his strapped car seat to lean over and tell me hello. At two he climbed the tennis court fence at our apartment, climbed all the way up threw a leg over and went down the other side. Now we are likely to find him high up in a tree, trying to figure out how to build something, put up a shelter or fort of some sort, off on a bike, hiking through the woods, knee deep in a mud puddle, wading in a pond, collecting interesting things, or playing with an animal, or trying to catch some kind of animal or critter.

I love this tender-hearted, curious, adventurous, mischievous, high-spirited kid.  He has a sweetness and always thinking of others around him and willing to lend a hand, but always trying to surprise you and catch you off guard.

 

Birthday: Jacob, Seven Years Old

Today is Jacob's 7th Birthday. He is our third child and our third boy. He doesn't give up or give in when he truly believes what he wants is what he needs; he can be very driven, strong willed, and stubborn. Determination and strength of spirit are two very dominate parts of his personality...he has the heart of a warrior, and yet, he is very kind-hearted, gentle, has a very generous spirit and is a very sweet boy. 
He is a very active and adventurous, loves to explore and investigate his world, always ready to find something new to investigate, discover, and learn. His imagination is immense and he can make up cute imaginative stories. He doesn't ever meet a stranger and one look into those beautiful eyes, and one smile could melt even the most grumpy of people. It doesn't matter where we go Jacob always finds, talks to and befriends someone new. 

Happy Birthday my sweet little man! May you continue to grow strong, smart and steadfast as you grow into a man. Love you always!

Birthday: Noah, Nine Years Old

Happy Birthday Noah! Today Noah turns Nine. We absolutely love this little guy not so little guy. He has an infectious zest for life, joyful spirit, kind soft spot for creatures big and small.

He is sweet, caring, giving and loving. He has a mischievous prankster streak that tends to get him into trouble, but it somehow just adds to the charm that is Noah. He is the kid you have to expect to hide in waiting to jump out at you when you least expect it. I have to say that I am glad that we don't have one of those stores that have all the pranks and tricks. We would be bombarded by whoopie cushions, buzzing hand shakes and all such types of "fun" things. You will always find him laughing and telling the newest joke that he just learned. If he notices that you are sad, he is quick to try to distract you with something amusing. He makes friends easily...both people and animals. Many of our encounters with nature have been initiated by this guy. We have been able to explore nature through his eyes daily, because something is usually brought home to examine, observe, or explore. He is always up for and adventure or an opportunity to explore and learn new things.


Happy Birthday my fun loving adventurous free spirit. You are growing up so fast into a wonderful young man. I sure wish I could bottle you up just as you are, but at the same time I am so excited to watch you grown into the man I know you can be. Wishing you a life of adventure and discovery, may you always keep this spirit close to your heart and never lose it.

She entered into the world of Jedi, knights, dragons, swords, lightsabers, mud, trucks, and everything boy and transformed our family dynamic beyond anything we could have ever imagined and conquered our hearts.

Happy Birthday Benjamin

January 24th 2013 we welcomed home Benjamin. This week he turned one! We have has such a great time with this little guy over his first year. What a Blessing and a treasure he is, he has such a wonderful personality. He wakes up smiling, goes to sleep smiling and you can often catch him giggling and smiling in his sleep. Ben is a friendly little guy that will go to most people; he's curious, inquisitive and very outspoken. Although he has not "mastered" language like some of our other kids at this age, he has mastered the growl, giggle, high pitched squeal, and newly acquired cute sound, Wookie. He's a great little snuggle bug and loves to cuddle, but also likes to go or an adventure or two exploring through the house to see who he can find, or what he can get into.
